Rev. Marla B. Bauler
Pastor
Our Pastor has been with us since February of this year. She comes to us with a Master of Divinity from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary (Pennsylvania) and a Master of Arts in Religion from the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary in Dubuque, Iowa. She has served congregations in central Illinois and South Georgia. In addition, she has worked as a Hospice Chaplain for St. John’s Hospital Hospice program in Springfield, IL and also in Statesboro, GA. Her areas of strength are pastoral care & visitation, worship planning & organization, and interpersonal skills.
Marla grew up in Little Rock, Arkansas and attended college in Conway where she met her husband. She has been married for 30 years to the Rev. Dr. Timothy Bauler, also a Presbyterian minister in a local town. They have three children: Captain Tim Bauler, Jr. (US Army) and his wife Lindsey who are at Ft. Benning, GA; daughter Erin who has recently graduated from Illinois College with an Education Degree, and youngest son Stuart who is at his first Air Force assignment in Albuquerque, NM. They have a Cocker Spaniel named Spencer who is currently living with relatives out of state.
Pastor Marla enjoys gardening, reading and touring Historical homes & sights, walking for health and fitness, listening to American Standards on Pandora, and finds old movies especially enjoyable.
Brandi Teel
Church Secretary
I began working as church secretary at the First United Presbyterian Church of Elmwood in July of 2007, after my family moved to Elmwood from Peoria. I have truly enjoyed getting to know members of the congregation over the years, and always enjoy, and look forward to my conversations with them. It is my pleasure to assist them in any way that I can, and feel blessed to be able to do so.
I grew up in Peoria, IL where I graduated from Peoria High School and attended ICC College. I met my husband, Tim Teel, shortly after graduating High School and we have been married for 27 years. Tim and I have been blessed with two children: our son Austin is 26 and our daughter Payton is 24.
I have been blessed with an amazing family in which I am very close with. My mother is my best friend and is a true inspiration in my life. In my spare time I enjoy reading, working out with my husband, watching movies, and having family game nights, but my biggest enjoyment comes from watching my children grow and succeed in life.

In the summer of 1992, Martha Hudson asked if I would be interested in being the choir director at church. I said “yes” and they haven’t gotten rid of me yet! Music is such a lovely way to worship the Lord.

I was approached in 1958 by Bert Sparks and Rev. Richard Chase to become the organist for Elmwood Presbyterian Church. I’m celebrating 63 years of service. I Love serving my Lord and Savior. I was blessed with my talent.
